THREE sisters who took turns to share their disabled father’s handphone to attend online classes have received help from their assemblyman, Makkal Osai reported.
The family from Batu Uban, Penang, fell on hard times after their father, identified only as Sivanesan, met with an accident and suffered total permanent disability, unable to walk or work.
His wife K. Meenatchiammal, 49, supported the family by working as a part-time makeup artist and performer but the pandemic had affected their livelihood.
Batu Uban assemblyman Kumaresan Aramugam learned of their plight, visited the family, and gave the three sisters a new laptop for their online classes.
Kumaresan said Sivanesan was working at a private company before his accident and had sought help to set up a food stall near their home to support his family.
The assemblyman commended the man’s effort to find work and support his family despite his disability.
