SERDANG: Eleven people have been detained in connection with the murder of a furniture shop worker in Taman Serdang Utama here.
Serdang OCPD Asst Comm AA Anbalagan said 10 men and a woman, aged between 33 and 64 years old, were detained on Sunday (Oct 10) after their statements were recorded.
"We are still investigating the weapon used for the murder.
"The suspects will be remanded for further investigation," he said when contacted on Sunday.
A post-mortem for the victim will be conducted on Monday (Oct 11) at Serdang Hospital, he added.
"We urge those with information on the case to contact the police as soon as possible," he said.
It was reported that a furniture shop worker was found murdered at a house in Taman Serdang Utama here.
ACP Anbalagan had said the 43-year-old victim was found in a rented room, lying face down, with bloody wounds to his head and body at 6.07pm on Saturday (Oct 9).
"There were slash wounds on his head, right ribs, back and hands.
"The victim had rented the room five years ago," he said.
The house where the victim was found consisted of several rooms separated by partitions and rented out, he added.
