A pedestrian who was struck by an SUV in a weekend hit-and-run has died, the Lake County Coroner’s office said Tuesday.
Coroner Jennifer Banek identified the victim as Wojciech Glowik, 22, of Glenview. An autopsy performed Tuesday indicates Glowik died from blunt force trauma.
Authorities said Glowik was walking along U.S. 45 in Indian Creek about 2:10 a.m. Saturday when he was struck by a vehicle that was traveling southeast. The driver did not stop after hitting Glowik.
Police responding to the Vernon Hills area location found Glowik. He was transported to a hospital, but died Monday, the coroner’s office said.
Police are seeking a white Audi SUV, which they say is the type of vehicle that hit Glowik. The vehicle police are seeking has damage to its front area. The Lake County sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information to contact them at (847) 549-5200.
