TOKYO -- A man was arrested for allegedly vandalizing a sign for Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications in Central Government Building No. 2 and another sign for a building housing the Tokyo district and high courts with what appears to be orange ink on Oct. 19.
The signs for the buildings in the Kasumigaseki district of the capital's Chiyoda Ward were found splashed with ink at around 9:50 a.m. According to the Metropolitan Police Department's Kojimachi Police Station, a man in his 70s who had been acting suspiciously nearby was arrested on the spot for alleged damage to property. He has reportedly admitted to the allegations.

Since August there have been a series of incidents in Kasumigaseki in which signs for the Ministry of Justice and the Public Prosecutors Office in Central Government Building No. 6 as well as the Bar Association Building were vandalized with suspected paint.
