A SCHOOLGIRL has been found dead in woodland in Wales after the teen was reported missing.

Cops were called shortly before 8.30am this morning to concerns for the safety of a 15-year-old girl who had gone missing in Tanygrisiau, Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Tragically, officers this afternoon found her body in a wooded area of the town, the Daily Post reports.

Detective Chief Inspector Lee Boycott said: "The circumstances of this tragic incident are not being treated as suspicious, and the local coroner has been informed.

"I would like to offer my sincere condolences to the family, and I would request that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time."

Cops closed off the road leading up to Tanygrisiau quarry for most of the day following the grim discovery.

It comes after a school was closed for the day after a body was found on site.

The "unknown adult body" was found at Bedford Academy in the Bedfordshire town on November 8, a school spokesman said.
