She came from 3-1 down to shock German Gabriel Clemens 5-3 in the final group match taking place in Wolverhampton. Sherrock defeated the German No1 with a 170 finish. Sherrock needed a 5-3 win or better against Clemens to make the historic sporting achievement.

       Clemens did well in the opening leg, but Sherrock hit back through double 16 to level up.

       A third break followed afterwards with the German taking out 72 to edge closer to the four legs he required to make it through.

       However, the 27-year-old was not giving up, striking double 9 for a hold of throw and then landed a huge 141 to make it 3-3.

       Sherrock then leveraged on the pressure to achieve a 4-3 lead over the German.

       The match came down to one leg of darts with Sherrock requiring ‘The Big Fish’ (two treble 20s and a bullseye) to make it through.

       The dart player tweeted after the victory: “OMG. Yeeeesssss… I can’t believe this.”

       Sherrock, 27, a former hairdresser, said: “I’m so delighted. The 170 checkout as well!

       “Wow! I don’t know how I kept calm up there. I thought after he got the three legs: ‘Just win, just try to win now and don’t lose a leg.'

       "I don’t know how I did it. That 170 – I thought: ‘Right, this has got to go. This is your one shot. I will take each game as it comes. It’s a different format to the last time I played Mensur.
