His defence counsel Aidan Harvey earlier told the court: “He accepts responsibility for the killing.”
The Crown are pursuing a murder charge and Mr Justice Wall set a trial date for June 7 next year, when a two-week hearing is scheduled to be heard on the case.
The defendant, who is in custody, entered a formal not guilty plea to murder.
Selamaj, who wore a facemask and grey T-shirt, spoke only to confirm his identity and entered.
Members of Sabina's family sat in court a few metres from the defendant in the dock.
Selamaj battered Sabina over the head after driving from his home in Eastbourne, Sussex, to London on September 17 this year.
