A WOMAN in her 30s has died after being run over by a tram after emergency services workers were unable to save her.
The woman was struck near Droyslden Station, Greater Manchester, at 9pm Friday evening.

Cops have closed off surrounding roads while there are reports of emergency service crews at the junction of Market Street and Manchester Road, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Trams services between Ashton-under-Lyne and Manchester Piccadilly have been suspended as crews work at the scene.
Greater Manchester Police have since confirmed a woman in her 30s has died and said it was working to "establish the full circumstances of the situation".
The force tweeted: "Police are investigating a fatal collision between a tram and a pedestrian. Emergency services are in attendance.
"A woman - in her 30's - has sadly been pronounced dead. No arrests have been made. Market Street remains closed whilst enquiries are ongoing."
There is no wider risk to the public, they said.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) has said: "Just after 8pm this evening, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) were asked by police to attend Market Street in Droylsden where a tram has collided with a pedestrian.
"GMFRS are in attendance at the scene alongside Greater Manchester Police and there is likely to be some disruption in the area."
Meanwhile, police have also cordoned off New Islington tram station in an incident believed to be connected to the incident in Droylsden - although this has not been officially confirmed.
