PETALING JAYA: The Sarawak state election has not caused a spike in Covid-19 cases in Sarawak due to Covid-19 vaccinations, says Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The Health director-general said as at Jan 9, 75.6% of Sarawak residents were fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and 62% of its adult population have received their booster shots.
"Daily Covid-19 cases, as well as hospital and ICU admissions continue to decline. Deaths have also decreased," he said.
Dr Noor Hisham also encouraged people to get their booster shots when given appointments.
"We need to continue to adhere to public health measures, which are the 3W (Wash, Wear, Warn) and 3S (avoid crowded place, confined space and close conversation), as well as implementing TRIIS (Test, Report, Isolate, Inform and Seek) for protection," he said.
