A PUPIL from SJK(T) Simpang Lima in Selangor has won her second international gold medal in the Asean Innovative Science, Environmental and Entrepreneur Fair, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Yashmita Murugan represented Tamil schools from the Klang area in the competition, where 447 participants and teams from 20 countries took part.

She was invited by the Indonesian Young Scientist Association to participate after having won a gold medal in the 2021 competition at just eight years old.

Yashmita’s second gold medal at this year’s event earned her a special recognition award for leading by example at such a tender age.

       > The daily also reported that an employment report released by the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics made headlines with its findings that there is a high percentage of joblessness among youth.

An estimated 31% of Pakistan’s young people with degrees, including professional qualifications, have been identified as being unemployed.

       Of these, 51% are women.

The report also found that 60% of young women are neither studying nor working.

Nearly 60% of the South Asian country’s population are below 30 years old.
