A 42-year-old man was slain in Northwest Washington early Monday morning, D.C. police said.

       Police identified him as Kenneth Thomas Jr., of Silver Spring, Md.

       Officers responded to a reported stabbing in the 1900 block of Ninth Street NW about 1 a.m. and found Thomas with a stab wound inside an establishment, police said.

       He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
