PONTIAN: A house near the Parit Ismail rural clinic near here was gutted in a fire on Wednesday (April 13).
Pontian Fire and Rescue Department station chief Azhar Abdul Jalil said they received an emergency call at around 12.50pm regarding the incident.
“Twenty-one firemen from the Pontian and Rengit fire stations were deployed,’’ he said in a statement.
Azhar said two Fire Rescue Tenders and one Fire Response Vehicle were used in the operations.
“The fire damaged about 70% of the half-concrete and half-wooden house,’’ he said.
Azhar said the fire was put out at 2.46pm, and added the cause and losses suffered are still under investigation.
