PETALING JAYA: More witnesses will be called to provide further details in the proceedings into the MySejahtera, especially regarding its development and procurement, says the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

Committee chairman Wong Kah Woh said that among the individuals necessary to be at the proceedings on April 21 would be officers from the National Security Council (NSC), the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (Mampu), as well as the National Cyber Security Agency (Nacsa).

In a statement Thursday (April 14), Wong said the main focus of the three-hour proceedings on Thursday was the awarding of the MySejahtera app development contract to KPISoft Malaysia Sdn Bhd; the ownership of the application; the government’s commitment to protecting the personal data of those using the app; and the ongoing dispute in court.

Two key individuals - Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Aziz and Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin - appeared before the PAC to provide statements and clarification on the issue.

It was also attended by Treasury secretary-general Datuk Seri Asri Hamidon and Health Ministry secretary-general Datuk Harjeet Singh.

On March 30, the bi-partisan committee announced that it would be holding the proceedings to probe the procurement of the mobile application.
