       David Bonola is walked out of a NYC police precinct

       The handyman accused of murdering Queens’ mother-of-two Orsolya Gaal before stuffing her body in her son’s hockey duffle bag and dumping it in a nearby park appeared in court on Thursday night charged with her murder.

       David Bonola, 44, was arraigned in Queens Supreme Court on charges of murder in the second degree, tampering with physical evidence and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

       A judge ordered him to be held without bond after police said he confessed to killing the 51-year-old, who he had been in an on-off relationship with for the last two years.

       Prosecutors said Ms Gaal let Mr Bonola into her home in Forest Hills in the early hours of Saturday morning before they got into an argument in the basement and she asked him to leave.

       The suspect then allegedly slashed Ms Gaal’s throat and stabbed her over 50 times with a kitchen knife before moving her body to Forest Park, where a passer-by discovered it later that morning.

       Police said Mr Bonola handed himself in on Wednesday and spilled the details of her murder.

       Suspected murderer David Bonola calmly proceeded to wolf down a bagel with cream cheese after he confessed to murdering his on-off lover Orsolya Gaal, according to law enforcement sources.

       Police sources told The New York Post that Mr Bonola confessed twice to stabbing Ms Gaal to death – once to detectives after he offered to speak to investigators and then a second time on video for prosecutors.

       The sources described the confession as “matter-of-fact” and “very thorough”, saying he answered every question he was asked and didn’t ask for an attorney once.

       After spilling the details of the brutal crime, he then scarfed down the breakfast item as his statements were being processed by investigators, the sources said.

       The memo was reportedly written by Ms Gaal prior to her murder in the early hours of Saturday morning.

       Investigators believe the note was a reference to David Bonola who turned himself in to police on Wednesday and confessed to killing the mother-of-two.

       Mr Bonola worked as a handyman for Ms Gaal’s family and the pair had been having an on-off affair for the last two years, police said.

       Prosecutors said that Ms Gaal had willingly let her alleged killer into her Forest Hills home in the early hours of Saturday morning before they got into an argument in the basement and she repeatedly told him to leave.

       Mr Bonola allegedly flew into a rage and slashed Ms Gaal’s throat with a kitchen knife.

       Prosecutors said he then stabbed her more than 50 times before stuffing her body inside her son’s hockey duffle bag, dragging it through the quiet residential area and dumping it in nearby Forest Park.

       David Bonola appeared in court for the first time on Thursday night charged with the murder of his on-off lover Orsolya Gaal.

       Mr Bonola, 44, was arraigned in Queens Supreme Court on charges of murder in the second degree, tampering with physical evidence and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

       “Two boys are left without a mother and a young teenager faces the added trauma of being home when this heinous murder took place,” Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said in a statement on Thursday night.

       “As alleged, the defendant stabbed the victim over 50 times and then attempted to dispose of the body by stuffing it into a duffel bag and dragging it across a quiet residential neighborhood – leaving a trail of blood and a terrified community.

       “The defendant is now in custody and will be held to account for this horrific crime.”

       Queens Criminal Court Judge Judge Anthony Battisiti ordered that Mr Bonola will be held without bond following his confession to the brutal murder.

       “The accused lays out in detail what happened, how it happened and what he did following the events given rise to this case,” the judge told the courtroom.

       Mr Bonola is next scheduled to appear in court on 26 April.

       If convicted, he faces 25 years to life in prison.

       The NYPD have released an image of a kitchen knife recovered from the home where Orsolya Gaal was stabbed 58 times.

       They say the knife is believed to be the weapon used to stab Ms Gaal.

       A medica; examiner’s report found Ms Gaal was slashed dozens of times in the neck, torso, and left arm, and suffered defensive wounds to her palm and fingers.

       David Bonola, 44, has been charged with second degree murder, tampering and possession of a weapon.

       NYPD detectives say the the 44-year-old David Bonola turned himself in and has confessed to the murder of Orsolya Gaal.

       Mr Bonola, 44, was arrested at 12.51am Thursday morning and charged with murder, criminal tampering and criminal possession of a weapon.

       The pair had been in an intimate relationship for about two years which had ended sometime before the killing, Lieutenant Timmy Thomson told a press conference on Thursday morning .

       The NYPD said Mr Bonola had made incriminating statements, and they were confident noone else was involved in the crime.

       Mr Bonola had carried out odd jobs around the property, police said.
