PONTIAN: Another temporary relief centre (PPS) housing flood victims in Pontian has been shut as floods are receding.
According to the state disaster management committee, the SK Seri Bukit Panjang PPS was closed at about 4pm on Friday (May 6), leaving only the SK Melayu Raya PPS open.
"The number of flood victims has dropped to only 19 from four families as of 4pm, compared to a total of 51 from 11 families at noon.
"All 32 victims from seven families that were previously seeking shelter at SK Seri Bukit Panjang PPS have now been allowed to return home," it said in a statement.
Earlier, the committee noted that the PPS in SK Sri Bunian was closed at about 6pm on Thursday (May 5).
The flood situation in Pontian started on early Wednesday (May 4) morning following a hours-long downpour.
