KEMAMAN: The body of a woman who was reported missing while bathing at Pantai Penunjuk, Kijal here on Friday (May 20) has been found.
Kemaman district police chief Supt Hanyan Ramlan said chalet workers found the body of Rokiah Abd Rahman, 59, floating at Pantai Air Tawar near Pulau Tenggol, Dungun at 7.30pm on Tuesday (May 24), about 40km from where she was last seen.
"The body was brought ashore by firefighters and the police, with the help of members of the public, and taken to the Kuala Kemaman Jetty at about 3am Wednesday (May 25).
"The process of identifying the body was done at the forensic unit of Hospital Kemaman," he told reporters.
In the incident on Friday morning, Rokiah and her husband Ahmad Qarib Ab Kadir, 60, from Temerloh, Pahang came to the beach with their four children for a holiday.
The couple went missing after being swept away by strong currents.
Ahmad Qarib’s body was found by two anglers about two nautical miles from Kuala Kemaman at 2.10pm the same day. – Bernama
