THE Kellie’s Castle Sri Maha Mariamman temple has published a book detailing its 115-year-old history, Malaysia Nanban reported.
The temple, which is located less than 1km from the popular tourist spot in Batu Gajah, Perak, has a long history and served the community for more than a century.
The history and temple records have been included in the book to serve future generations, temple chairman Vel Murugan said.
The book entitled Maranthathum Nilaitthathum (Forgotten Tales & Existing Facts) has been written in four languages to ensure it reached the masses.
Proceeds from the recent book launch organised by the temple committee during the temple festival has been donated to Tamil schools, two temples and the disabled people in the area.
The temple has more books in stock and interested buyers may approach them, he said.

Kabin Chengkottuvan, who is a manager at ITC Grand Chola, which is a top luxury hotel wedding venue, said the rush was expected following two years of lockdown which have been lifted.
A total of five trillion rupees (RM283bil) is expected to be spent on jewellery, venues, decorations, catering and other items.
The country is seeing booming business in luxury and destination weddings in luxury hotels, beach resorts and themed weddings.
A recent grand wedding planning exhibition held by event planners Razzmatazz Group Taj Coromandel, which is one of the top hotels in the country, also showed a booming wedding season and the recovering economy, industry players said.
