A picture of Prince Harry meeting some of the Invictus Games volunteers has been released, with just hours to go before the Games begin in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The circulating image shows Harry grinning as he proudly stands alongside some of the volunteers gearing up to welcome the Games later on this evening, September 9.

This comes after Harry was pictured marking the first anniversary of the late Queen's death alone in Windsor.

Just a short while before he travelled to Germany, Prince Harry was photographed exiting the King George VI Memorial Chapel at Windsor Castle.

The former working royal portrayed a lonely figure as he paid his repects to his beloved grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Photographs have also circulated on social showing the Duke of Sussex beaming with some of the members for Team UK.

Like Harry, they all appear excited for the Games, which run until September 16, to begin.

Harry appeared at ease, looking relaxed as he posed for pictures with those in attendance.

Harry arrived in Germany on Friday, having only stayed in the UK for 23 hours.

The Duke of Sussex only arrived in London on Thursday, ready for his appearance at the WellChild Awards.

He attended the Awards on Thursday evening, and has been patron for the charity for 15 years.

Noticeably absent with the Duchess of Sussex, who opted to remain in the US with the couple's two children, Archie and Lilibet.

Meghan will, however, be joining Harry in Germany on September 11 - staying with him for the remainder of the Games.

The Invictus Games hold a special place in Harry's heart, ever since he founded the event in 2014.

After being inspired after attending the Warrior Games in the US in 2013, Harry made it a goal to make his own version.

It is an international multi-sport event, aimed at wounded, injured and sick Armed Forces personnel and veterans.
