A 16-year-old boy was charged with two felony counts of first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of a teenage boy and a 65-year-old man outside their Southwest Side home, according to Chicago police.

Police arrested the boy Friday in the 6700 block of South Artesian Avenue. Police said he shot two people just before 4:30 p.m. in the 3500 block of West 61st Place Tuesday afternoon.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the victims as Juan A. Medina Jr., 14, and Mario Medina. The office ruled both deaths a homicide, caused by multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said the victims were standing outside when two gunmen inside a gray vehicle fired shots before fleeing west on 61st Place. The boy died at the scene, while the older Medina was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he later died.
