KOTA KINABALU: Sabah has ordered a gag on all its government-linked companies (GLCs) over speaking about development projects without any permission from the state Cabinet.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said all state GLCs were required to refer to their respective minister or the state Cabinet before entering into any agreement to avoid future complications.
"The Cabinet views the matter seriously," he said when chairing the Chief Minister's Department post-Cabinet meeting at Menara Kinabalu on Wednesday (Jan 10).
He also said that Sabah will form a task force to monitor the water and electricity issues in the state.
"The task force to be headed by State Secretary Datuk Seri Safar Untong will meet once a week or every fortnight," Hajiji added.
Present at the meeting were his three Assistant Ministers, namely Datuk Abidin Madingkir, Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan and Datuk Ruslan Muharam, along with Safar, State Attorney-General Datuk Nor Asiah Mohd Yusof and Kota Kinabalu mayor Datuk Seri Dr Sabin Samitah, among others.
