A FAMILY that went out to catch the action comedy movie Beast starring South Indian actor Vijay, came home to find the house ransacked, Makkal Osai reported.

       M. Elangovan, 62, said his wife and children arrived home in Johor Baru after midnight and discovered the break-in.

They lost belongings and cash amounting to RM2,000.

Elangovan, who was at work on the night shift then, had not gone with his wife and children to the cinema.

He said his family seldom went out at night but decided to make it an exception that day to watch the movie.

       > A woman stabbed her mentally ill son to death when he apparently tried to sexually harass her, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Identified only as Punitha, the 58-year-old called the police in Tamil Nadu, claiming that her 27-year-old son had committed suicide by stabbing himself in the neck.

The son was alleged to be suffering from mental illness for the last seven years.

However, police became suspicious of the mother following an autopsy.

She eventually admitted to stabbing him, saying that she attacked him with a knife when he tried to sexually harass her.
