ACTRESS and singer Janna Nick (pic) revealed that she had thought of undergoing bariatric surgery or abdominal bypass (weight loss surgery) when she was ridiculed for being fat and having big thighs, Kosmo! Online reported.
Janna, whose real name is Nurul Jannah Muner, admitted to being offended and saddened by public comments of her physical size.
“I felt sad. Before this, I never cared when people say I’m fat and with big thighs.
“But this time, I really felt like I wanted to cut my stomach. It’s stupid right? But no, I will prove that I can be thin. I don’t care that people want to hurt me,” she said through a video shared on Instagram.
Janna, 27, urged people not to make a person’s physical size a joke.
“I hope everyone who watches my video, please stop body shaming other people. It’s not cool,” she said.
Janna also uploaded a video edit showing herself working out in a gym to prove that she too can have the body of her dreams.
> New actress Siti Hariesa has no regrets when she was crushed by the controversy of the hot scene in the drama Perempuan Itu.
The 24-year-old, who kept silent for a month after she was criticised, told BH Online that the controversy taught her to be professional and more careful in choosing characters in the future.
“As an actress, I have no regrets filming the scene. I have to be professional. After all, it’s for work and not for fun,” she said.
“I didn’t go anywhere. It’s just that I was on holiday for a month after filming the drama.”
She added that she chose to keep quiet because she did not want to issue a statement that could further worsen the situation.
Previously, Siti Hariesa became a target of the media after a sensual scene with Zul Ariffin was shared by the actor through his Instagram account.
Among the scenes that provoked the anger of many involved Zul lifting Siti Hariesa and the scene of her feeding whipping cream to his mouth passionately.
> Utusan Malaysia reported that children at Kampung Sungai Nonang, Alor Setar, had to go to school without showering after water supply was cut two weeks ago.
Father Norehan Zainol, 36, said he had to save water because he was not willing to transport water every day from his mother-in-law’s house in Kampung Permatang Alor Ibus by car, about 1km away.
“In my house, there are 12 people from three families and we need a lot of water for our daily needs.
“My two children had to go to school without taking a shower and this situation is very sad. They also told me that they feel uncomfortable going to school,” he said.
Residents of the village claimed that the water supply problem in the village had been an issue for the past 15 years.
