KAJANG: Police are investigating the incident where a man died and another was injured after falling off a Ferris wheel at a funfair, though no foul play is suspected.
Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan said police were still awaiting further information from the local authority regarding the funfair.
“We are also waiting to get a report from the Chemistry Department. The case is still under investigation,” he said when asked whether the funfair operator had the proper permits.
On Thursday, police received a report about a 39-year-old man who died and another who was injured after falling off a Ferris wheel at a funfair near a mall in Cheras Selatan.
The injured victim, in his 30s, was rushed to Hospital Kajang for treatment.
Police have discovered no criminal elements but are investigating the case to determine if the fall was a result of negligence on the part of either the funfair operator or the victims themselves.
The incident has been classified as sudden death.
Members of the public are urged not to speculate on the incident as the investigation is underway.
