KUALA LUMPUR: FGV Holdings Bhd has appointed independent auditing firm Elevate to assess the group’s operations.
This is aimed at addressing the Withhold Release Order (WRO) issued by the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) against the group’s palm oil and palm oil products in September last year.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the plantation giant said the assessment is part of FGV’s efforts to petition for the revocation of the WRO by CBP.
“Elevate is an independent sustainability and supply chain service provider with vast experience in advancing social compliance and addressing forced labour risks by applying a worker-centric approach.
“We have had discussions with our US-based legal counsel and Elevate on the audit design and plan,” it added.
