SEREMBAN: Actress-model Zarina Anjoulie Mohamad Fahizul has pleaded not guilty at the Magistrate's Court here to a charge of administering methamphetamine into her body.
The 34-year-old claimed trial to the charge before Magistrate Mahyun Yusof on Monday (Sept 13).
Zarina allegedly committed the offence at a house in Kg Chalet in Nilai in June.
She was charged under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries a jail term of up to two years, a fine of up to RM5,000 or both upon conviction.
Mahyun then fixed bail at RM2,000 and Sept 24 for next mention.
The accused was represented by Fadhli Sutris and Ahmad Faiz Munawar.
On June 29, it was reported that Nilai police had detained an actress for alleged drug abuse.
Nilai OCPD Supt Mohd Fazley Ab Rahman was quoted as saying that the suspect was later taken to the district police headquarters for screening and the tests came back positive for methamphetamine abuse.
He said the suspect was released on police bail after her statement was recorded.
