PETALING JAYA: A 30-year-old woman and her boyfriend have been detained for allegedly abusing three of her children.

       “There are signs of abuse on the bodies of the two girls, aged four and six, as well as their seven-year-old brother,” said Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid when contacted yesterday.

       “We also seized three canes, believed to have been used by the suspects.”

       He said the woman and her 38-year-old boyfriend were detained at their home in Kota Damansara at about 4pm on Friday.

       They were being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act, he added.

       He advised the public to be alert of crimes occurring in their neighbourhood.

       “Contact the police or Talian Kasih at 15999,” ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin said.
