PETALING JAYA: Two men pretending to be policemen "seized" a motorcycle from an apartment building here.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said the victim was told by a security guard that two policemen had taken his motorcycle away on Wednesday (March 16).
"The suspects introduced themselves as policemen and registered at the security guard booth of an apartment in Damansara Damai.
"The motorcycle was then taken away in a lorry," he said in a statement Friday (March 18).
"On the same day at 11.50pm, a police team arrested a 31-year-old man in Mutiara Damansara for alleged involvement in the theft.
"He told police that he had been offered RM100 by his friend, whom he called 'Mamat Mulong' to transport the motorcycle in his lorry," ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin added.
After being questioned, the suspect led police to a location in Kampung Tengah, Puchong where a lorry, the stolen but partially stripped-down motorcycle and four mobile phones were found.
"The suspect has been remanded for four days. Investigations are under way to trace this 'Mamat Mulong'," ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin said.
