KUALA LUMPUR: The KTM Komuter service along the KL Sentral-Port Klang route resumed today after it was forced to temporarily stop operations due to floods on Saturday (Dec 16).
Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) said, in a Facebook post Monday (Dec 18), that the service had to be stopped due to damage to its electrification system and related infrastructure.
"KTMB was also affected by the floods in the Klang valley on Saturday and among the worst hit stations was Batu Tiga, which was submerged.
"The water at the station began receding on Sunday (Dec 19) and we were able to carry out repair and rehabilitation works," it said.
KTMB also thanked its employees for completing all works within the given time and allowing the service to resume.
It expressed hope that with the opening of the route, commuters will be able to continue with their daily routine.
"We also pray that all flood victims will persevere in the face of this challenge," it said.
