KUALA LUMPUR: NWP Holdings Bhd has been served with an unusual market activity (UMA) query by Bursa Malaysia due to the sharp rise in its price and volume recently.

       NWP is currently the most active counter on Bursa Malaysia. The timber-products manufacturer added two sen, or 6.67% to 32 sen with over 168 million shares traded. It has appreciated 30.6% since the beginning of the week.

       Bursa Securities had directed the company to check with its board of directors and shareholders on the reason for the rise in share price and advise investors accordingly.

       “Investors are advised to take note of the company’s reply to the UMA query, which will be posted on Bursa Malaysia’s website under company announcements, when making their investment decision, ” it said.
