Woman falls to her death from Kota Kinabalu commercial building

       KOTA KINABALU: A 50-year-old woman fell to her death from a commercial building in Lintas Square, not far from the state capital early Friday (Jan 21).

       Kota Kinabalu OCPD Asst Comm Zaidi Abdullah said the victim was said to have fallen from the fourth floor of the building at about 8am.

       "We received a call about the incident at 8.05am, and a team was sent to the scene at around 8.20am," he said.

       He said based on what the woman was wearing, she was believed to be a kindergarten teacher.

       ACP Zaidi said looking at the CCTV recording of the parking lot, the woman was seen driving into the area at about 7.10am.

       Police later found her vehicle and a pair of shoes, believed to beling to the victim, at the parking lot.

       "We have classified this case under a Sudden Death Report," he said, adding they were investigating the cause of the incident.

       According to witnesses, Then was heard screaming in agony when she landed on the ground following her fall.

       A passerby helped put chairs around the victim to avoid drivers from hitting her body as the area was a busy road intersection.
