KOTA KINABALU: A suspected drug addict allegedly stabbed his younger brother after he failed to get money from his mother to buy drugs in the Beaufort district.

       Beaufort OCPD Deputy Supt Yusoff Mat Yaacob said prior to the 5.30pm incident on Wednesday (Sept 8), the 31-year-old suspect had asked his mother for money but she refused to give him any.

       "He got angry and started shouting and destroying things at home when the brother asked him to stop," DSP Yusoff said.

       This led to a fight and the suspect grabbed a pair of scissors and stabbed his brother in the head.

       He said the mother stepped in to pull them apart before a police report was lodged.

       The younger brother was taken to the hospital for treatment and the suspect was arrested.

       DSP Yusoff said the scissors used in the attack was also confiscated.

       This case is being investigated for voluntarily causing hurt.
