MERSING: Two men were hurt when their lorry met with an accident near Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Mersing on Wednesday (April 13).

       Mersing Fire and Rescue station chief Mohd Azhari Awi said they received an emergency call at around 9.40am about an incident at Jalan Endau Utama.

       “The victims, believed to be the driver and attendant of the lorry, were injured after the vehicle skidded," he said in a statement.

       Mohd Azhari said 12 firemen were sent to the scene in one Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) and one Fire Response Vehicle (FRV).

       “We had to use rescue tools and hydraulic cutters to free the victims who were pinned inside the lorry," he said.

       Mohd Azhari added that the victims were sent to Hospital Mersing for treatment and the operation ended at 10.48am.
