KOTA KINABALU: Sabah PAS supports the registration of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) as an official political coalition but needs more details on its direction, among other things.

       Its liaison committee secretary Dr Aliakbar Gulasan said Sabah PAS would meet GRS chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor soon to obtain more information on the recent registration.

       "In principle, Sabah PAS and all component parties of GRS, which was set up before the 2020 Sabah state election, agreed with its establishment.

       "We will review all our decisions. We are still with Perikatan Nasional and we have not broken up with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).

       "It is just that we need more information on the registration,” he told reporters after the Tukar Minyak Engin PAS Sabah programme here on Sunday (March 20).

       GRS officially comprises Bersatu, Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) and Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP), without the participation of Barisan Nasional and PAS.

       Hajiji, who is also Chief Minister, was earlier quoted as saying the cooperation of parties in GRS with PAS is through Perikatan.

       The "Tukar Minyak" (change oil) programme was organised by Sabah PAS Youth through Alternative Riding Club (ARC).

       Under the programme, 50 food delivery riders registered with ARC will receive a free motorcycle engine oil change. – Bernama
