       Keir Starmer has insisted that there should not be any concerns about the health of Donald Trump, after the President made a number of blunders at yesterday’s press conference. The Prime Minister was forced to scramble around the floor to pick up a document dropped by the president in front of the world’s media.

       Mr Trump also twice accidentally referred to the UK as the ‘EU’ when championing the newly agreed trade deal. It also comes after other mishaps from the President, including a recent tumble while walking up stairs to board Air Force One. Speaking from Canada, Sir Keir told the Daily Express that voters need not fear the President’s mental or physical health.

       Sir Keir also doubled down that he has “no doubt in my mind” that Donald Trump is fully on board with the G7’s call for de-escalation in the region, despite the President warning Tehran residents to evacuate ahead of expected further strikes.

       The President sensationally quit the G7 early overnight to return to the White House and get a grip of the Middle East escalations, delivering a huge snub to President Zelenskyy whom he was meant to meet with today, and slamming President Macron as a “publicity seeker” who has “no idea”.

       Sir Keir insisted that President Trump does want an end to the conflict in the Middle East, and wants to go further than a ceasefire.

       He told reporters at the G7: “I think what he said was he wanted to go beyond a ceasefire effectively and end the conflict. And I think he's right about that. I mean, a ceasefire is always a means to an end.

       “The end we want to see is the de-escalation and back to negotiations — a deal to deal with the Iranian nuclear program, and, of course, the wider question of conflict across the Middle East, including Gaza.

       “So a ceasefire is always a means to an end, rather than an end in itself, and that is consistent with what we agreed around the table yesterday.

       “And throughout the dinner yesterday I was sitting right next to President Trump, so I've no doubt, in my mind, the level of agreement there was in relation to the words that were then issued immediately after that, pretty soon after the dinner.”
