DUNGUN (Bernama): An 11-year-old boy died after he was stung by a hornet in his house in Kampung Minda, Hulu Dungun here on Friday (July 16).

       The boy's father, Mohd Nazuki Mat Jusoh, 42, said his second son Rayyan Fitri, 11, was confirmed dead by the medical team at about 2.30 pm when he arrived at the Bukit Besi Health Clinic here for treatment.

       He said his son, a Year Five pupil of Sekolah Kebangsaan Minda Talong, was playing with a mobile phone with his 13-year-old sister when he was stung on his right hand.

       "I had just returned from Friday prayers and I saw Rayyan crying and staggering as he headed to the toilet. He almost collapsed but I was able to catch him," he said.

       He said he his daughter told him that Rayyan Fitri complained of a headache and was feeling hot after the sting and the girl told her brother to take a bath to cool down.

       Mohd Nazuki said immediately rushed his son to the Bukit Besi Health Clinic.

       He said his youngest child, a seven-year-old boy, was also stung by three wasps at the house last year but they managed to get him to a clinic in time.

       Dungun district police chief Supt Baharudin Abdullah confirmed the incident.

       He said the victim's body was sent to the Dungun Hospital for post-mortem examination. – Bernama
