PUTRAJAYA: An enforcement officer with a local authority has been remanded for allegedly submitting false claims of about RM27,000.

The suspect has been remanded for five days beginning Tuesday (Sept 21) after Magistrate Shah Wira Abdul Halim allowed an application submitted by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) prosecutors.

The 24-year-old was arrested at the Putrajaya MACC office at about 5.30pm on Monday (Sept 20) after he was called to have his statement recorded.

It is understood that the suspect had submitted false claims in relation to renting lorry services where the receipt contained false information.

Putrajaya MACC director Mohd Anuar Ismail confirmed the arrest, saying that the case is being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act.
