PETALING JAYA: Scalpers are offering the newly-announced enhanced Touch ‘n Go card with NFC for between RM15 to RM90 on an ecommerce platform.
One such reseller is listing the card for RM90 and described the item as a “hot seller”, while another is offering only one unit of the card in “sealed packaging” for RM69.
A separate reseller claimed that a card is being offered for RM65 because it comes with free shipping vouchers and 10% cashback.

Another scalper who is offering the card for RM35 instructed buyers to wait till May to receive the product. Some of the resellers are also claiming to be authorised distributors.
The card, however, is originally priced at only RM10 and does not come with any preloaded value. The company stated in an FAQ that each card starts with a zero MYR balance.
On April 22, Touch ‘n Go announced that the enhanced version of its TNG card is available for purchase at retail outlets and through its ewallet app. The new card comes with NFC (Near Field Communication) technology which allows users to reload value directly into it from their Touch ‘n Go ewallet, a process that involves tapping the card on the back of their NFC-enabled mobile device.
Within hours of the announcement, the card listed as “out of stock” on the Touch ‘n Go ewallet app. The company said users will be notified later when it becomes available for purchase.
On the company’s Facebook page, some users are also claiming that the card is unavailable for purchase at the Touch ‘n Go Hub in Nu Sentral Mall in Kuala Lumpur. The company has responded that the card is sold out due to “overwhelming response”.
Due to the global chip shortage, the company said it expected demand to exceed supply.
