KLANG: The UOA Group has donated intensive care equipment worth some RM1.03mil to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR) as part of its corporate social responsibility.

Manager for UOA Development Bhd property manager Sam Khoo said the contribution included ventilators, oxygen tanks and breathing monitoring apparatus, and these were given in response to the rise in number of Covid-19 patients facing breathing difficulties at HTAR’s ICU.

“We made the decision to contribute these equipment after discovering that they are urgently required during this critical period of the pandemic.

“We hope this contribution can help the hospital, other than ensuring that patients can have access to appropriate treatment and care in order to save lives,” Khoo said in a statement.

In relation to this, the deputy medical director for HTAR, Dr Md Razis Ramli, expressed his deepest appreciation for the contribution.

“The equipment will be put to good use at our ICU, in light of the rise in number of patients needing intensive care, and we continue to welcome such contributions from all parties,” he said. — Bernama
