INSULATE Britain warned "we're just getting started" after causing chaos on motorways with its road-blocking protests.

       The environmental activists admitted its tactics had failed so far but vowed to continue its disruptive campaign in more ambitious ways.

       It insisted there are only three years left to avoid "failing our children" and is demanding the Government fully funds and takes responsibility for insulating all social housing in Britain by 2025.

       The group's vow comes after five eco-warriors were jailed last week for breaching an injunction banning them from the M25.

       A group statement said: "We failed to move our irresponsible government to take meaningful action to prevent thousands of us from dying in our cold homes during the energy price crisis.

       "We have failed to make this heartless government put its people over profit and insulate our homes to do our part in lowering the UK's emissions.

       "We have failed to encourage our government to get up from their drinks parties, go to their desk and get on with the job.

       "Now we must accept that we have lost another year, so our next campaign of civil resistance against the betrayal of this country must be even more ambitious.

       "More of us must take a stand. More of you need to join us. We don't get to be bystanders. We either act against evil or we participate in it.

       "We haven't gone away. We're just getting started."

       Last week, Theresa Norton, 63, Diana Warner, 62, El Litten, 35, and Steve Pritchard, 62, who glued themselves to the steps of the High Court in London, were given between 24 and 42 days inside.

       Ben Taylor, 27, was jailed for 32 days.

       Eleven protestors were spared jail with a suspended sentence and three walked free without punishment.

       The court heard the group is planning to resume protests this spring.
