A WOMAN, a motorbike rider and a dog have all died after being involved in a horror crash.

       The accident happened at around 3pm on Saturday on the A52 in Derbyshire, with the carriageway between the Clifton Road and Derby Road roundabouts on the Ashbourne bypass closed for six hours as cops investigated.

       Derbyshire police confirmed today that a woman in her 50s, and her dog died at the scene and a man in his 50s, who was on the motorbike, died in hospital on Saturday evening having sustained serious injuries.

       Both families are currently being supported by specialist officers, reports the Derby Telegraph.

       A spokeswoman for the force said: "Two people have sadly died following a collision on the A52 at Ashbourne yesterday.

       “Emergency services were called to the incident, involving a motorbike and a pedestrian, just after 3pm.

       "A woman aged in her 50s and her dog both sadly died at the scene, and a man, also aged in his 50s, who was riding the motorbike, was taken to hospital having suffered serious injuries. He also sadly died later that evening.

       "Both families are receiving support from specially-trained officers. Our thoughts are with them at this distressing time.
