PETALING JAYA: Malaysia has reached another milestone in Covid-19 vaccinations as it crossed the 250,000 daily dose mark on Tuesday.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba said that 250,529 doses were administered throughout the country.

Of that figure, 190,244 jabs were first doses, while the remaining 60,285 were second doses.

This is the highest daily number of doses administered since Monday when 235,623 doses were administered.

To date, a total of 6,301,727 doses have been dispensed.

“The number of people who have received their first dose is 4,574,685. From that number, 1,727,042 people have also received the second dose,” Dr Adham said in a tweet yesterday.

This means that about 5.3% of the population have received both doses of a Covid-19 vaccine.

This comes after Covid-19 National Immunisation Programme coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin said that the authorities aim to hit 400,000 vaccinations a day by August.

He has also targeted to fully vaccinate 10% of Malaysia’s population by mid-July.
