KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah government has announced further relaxation of business restrictions, allowing betting shops to resume operations from Tuesday (Sept 14).
State Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said this is in line with the Finance Ministry's decision to permit licensed 4D outlets and turf clubs to resume operations on that day.
"In line with this, the Sabah government through the state Covid-19 disaster management committee meeting, has agreed to allow number forecast operators and horse turf clubs to reopen on Tuesday.
"We want to remind these businesses that all workers and patrons must be fully vaccinated and show low-risk status in their MySejahtera app," he added in the daily Covid-19 update statement on Monday (Sept 13).
Meanwhile, Sabah reported lower daily cases on Monday with 1,649 infections, down from 1,717 the previous day.
He said Monday's tally included 44 cases involving detainees in the Henry Gurney correctional facility and Kepayan prison.
One new cluster was reported at Kinabatangan dubbed Ladang Desa Jerocco 2, involving a workplace cluster at an oil palm plantation, where 55 cumulative cases have been recorded so far.
