LAHORE: An Anti-Corruption Court of Dera Ghazi Khan on Wednesday awarded a seven-year sentence to a former land superintendent in Sardar Kaura Khan Jatoi land scam.
Philanthropist Sardar Kaura Khan Jatoi had donated 97,474 kanals to then Muzaffargarh district board (now district council) for the welfare of the public and made a will before his death which was registered on Oct 5, 1894.
A Supreme Court bench on Nov 24, 2016, ordered the Muzaffargarh and Rajanpur administrations to retrieve the land from illegal occupants.

The ATC special judge announced the verdict of the case and sentenced former land superintendent Yasin Khan in two different cases and cquitted the second suspect Kashif Shah.
The court sentenced the land superintendent to a seven-year imprisonment and a fine of Rs3 million. The accused was arrested by the court.
Earlier, Muzaffargarh Deputy Commissioner Quratul Ain suspended the accused, Yasin Khan, who was serving as administrator of Deputy Commissioner PA in the District Council.
