IPOH: Perak PKR has slammed DAP’s Bilut assemblyman over his statement calling for Pakatan Harapan chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to step down as Opposition leader.
In a statement, the Perak PKR leadership said Lee Chin Chen, who is also Pahang DAP secretary, demonstrated shallow and narrow thinking.
“It (the statement) intends to destabilise the harmony in Pakatan.
“We would like to urge the top leadership of DAP to advise and urge the Bilut assemblyman to be more mature and concerned with building the strength, unity and harmony of Pakatan instead of issuing statements that are not strategic and childish,” it said yesterday.
“Time and energy should be concentrated in weathering and facing the challenges after the Melaka state election,” it said, adding that the responsibilities and decision-making were shared among Pakatan leaders.
“Let us close ranks and continue with the struggle,” it added.
Lee had also called on DAP to withdraw from Pakatan if there was no hope for change in the coalition’s leadership.
