A GP who "abused his position" has been accused of having sex with at least six people in his practice, including a colleague and women from a dating app, a tribunal has heard.

Cambridge-educated Dr Thomas Plimmer, 40, is accused of having sex in his consulting room at a GP surgery in Swindon.

The women he brought to his workstation allegedly include a "vulnerable" colleague whom he started having a sexual relationship with back in 2018.

He also met several women on apps, performing sexual acts with them during office hours.

The tribunal heard that as well as "abusing his position", Dr Plimmer was a "regular liar" and threatened to "slit" one woman’s throat if she referred him to the General Medical Council, which regulates a doctor’s medical licence.

Mark Monaghan, presenting the case on behalf of the GMC, said that in one incident, Mr Plimmer showed a colleague a video of him having sex with another woman.

After showing the video, "without warning", he then tried to kiss and touch the colleague, Mr Monaghan alleged.

He added: "He would come into her room with his trousers undone and flirt with her."

On multiple occasions, the woman would also walk in on Dr Plimmer performing sexual acts in his consulting room.

Plimmer would frequently send his colleague explicit videos and that there was sexual behaviour with her on a "weekly basis", The Telegraph reported Mr Monaghan had claimed.

On another occasion, Dr Plimmer tried to console a "clearly distressed" woman by putting an "arm around her" and taking her into his consulting room to "cheer her up" and then putting her hand on his genitals, the tribunal heard.

Dr Plimmer admits to the claims but says the acts were "always consensual".

But Miss C grew concerned about Dr Plimmer when he refused to meet her but invited her into his surgery and had sex with her, Mr Monaghan claimed.

The reason why he became less responsive was because he had moved in with yet another woman, Miss D, after meeting in January 2019.

While "juggling" the different women, he made up a number of "deliberate lies", including when he told Miss D his brother was seriously unwell, it was claimed.

He was also accused of lying that his mother had several serious strokes and that she needed to go to rehab.

Dr Plimmer met Miss E on a dating site in January 2021, and on two occasions sent her unsolicited explicit photos that she could tell were taken at work, the tribunal was told.

A Miss F was even threatened by Dr Plimmer who said he knew "where she lives" and said he would "slit her throat" if she "takes me to the GMC".

       The hearing continues.
