KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): The Higher Education Institution (HEI) Student Vaccination Programme will enable the Covid-19 vaccination rate to be accelerated to form safe campus bubbles and achieve herd immunity against the coronavirus.
National Student Consultative Council (MPPK) president Muhammad Amir Asyraf Mohd Sabri said under the programme, HEI students who had not been vaccinated could get their vaccine shots at any vaccination centre (PPV) offering walk-in vaccination.
He said this was an indication that the government, especially the Higher Education Ministry (MOHE), continued to listen to the views and expressions of students.
"MPPK also urges all students who have not received their vaccination appointments, to walk-in those PPVs to get their vaccine shots. The role of the students is also vital in ensuring that every HEI campus nationwide becomes a safe campus," he said in a statement on Thursday (Sept 9).
On Wednesday (Sept 8), Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba was reported to have said that over 200,000 HEI students who had not been vaccinated could go to walk-in vaccination centres to get their jabs.
MOHE Minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad in a statement on her Facebook also said that HEI students only needed to bring their matriculation and identity card (IC) for confirmation at the PPV while new students need to provide admission offer letter and IC. - Bernama
