KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Michael Chooi Yoey Sun, co-founder of kitchen cabinet manufacturer Signature International Bhd, has emerged as a substantial shareholder of property company Ecofirst Consolidated Bhd with a 5.155% stake.

       Chooi bought 20 million shares in the open market over the last 14 days and acquired 40 million more shares via an off-market transaction through Wawasan Fokus Sdn Bhd, EcoFirst said in a statement.

       EcoFirst is a medium-sized property player with prime landbank in the Klang Valley.
