KLUANG: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has detained an administrative assistant for allegedly receiving a bribe amounting to RM50,000.
According to a source, the 30-year-old female suspect was detained at the Kluang MACC branch office here at around 9am after giving her statement.
It is learnt that the suspect allegedly received kickbacks between 2020 and 2021 from several companies as an inducement in giving supply and maintenance works to them from the department she works in.
When contacted, Johor MACC director Datuk Azmi Alias confirmed the arrest and said the case was being investigated under Section 17(a) of the MACC Act 2009.
The suspect has since been released on MACC bail.
