The city of Chicago will host a celebration of the Chicago Sky WNBA champions on Tuesday at Millennium Park, Mayor Lori Lightfoot said.

The celebration will be “sometime morning, midday,” Lightfoot said during an interview on The Score.

Lightfoot praised the Sky for their mental toughness after going 16-16 in the regular season to earn the sixth seed in the playoffs.

“When you think about this season, they started 0-7, 0-7, but you could see the seeds of the championship,” Lightfoot said. “This is a team that played really tough defense. They just kept at it.”

This is a developing story and will update with details of the celebration when the city announces them.
