Dr Karan Rajan, who posts on TikTok under the name @dr.karanr, was asked to share some "medical myths that are simply not true".
In response, the doc said: "When someone gets cremated, the ashes are not what you think they are.
"Incinerating a human body doesn't turn them into ashes like when you burn wood, you're actually left with dried bone fragments.
"These bone fragments are put into a machine called a cremulator and pulverised."
The surgical doctor continued: "Basically a high-speed blender that processes bones to look like ashes."
His video has since been watched over 698,000 times with more than 64,000 likes.

As reported, Dr Raj’s TikTok page also features a video where he delved into the macabre mystery of severed feet being found on the shores of the Salish Sea between Canada and the US.
Since August 20, 2007, 21 feet have washed up on the beaches completely severed from the bodies they were once attached to.
But Dr Raj has worked out a theory that could explain the grisly phenomenon.
